Things to consider

This was in response to a post I found on facebook, and I did search all the claims made here and found that they all appear to be accurate. I would have linked to all of the findings, but short on time today. feel free to check them out yourself.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault,” think about this:
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77.
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%.
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%.
George Bush’s Economic policies were responsible for 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH.
Remember the day…
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
It started with Jimmy Carter and his Housing and Community Investment Act of 1977, broadened by Bill Clinton, enforced by Janet Reno, then sent over the cliff by Frank & Dodd. Oh, Obama, as an attorney in Chicago working on behalf of ACORN, successfully sued Citibank for loan discrimination under Reno’s tenure!
Unemployment… to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!
Bush asked Congress 17 times to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA
And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?
OBAMA and the Democrat Congress.
So when someone tries to blame Bush..
REMEMBER: JANUARY 3rd, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!”
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.
In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.
And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

I am a different 99%

This is my version of the whole 99% thing. revised it a bit.

Comments encouraged.

I am a 47-year-old man, working a full-time job, making around $30,000 a year. I am barely keeping up on my bills. I don’t have health insurance. My car luckily is still running so I can get back and forth to work. I live in a broken down house, and have 2 teenage children, and I am recently divorced. I am barely scraping by week to week, wondering if there is going to be enough money in my next paycheck, to put food on the table and pay the bills.

I got to this position by not being motivated to Excel. I was a below average student  in high school, and I never looked to the future. I don’t blame my parents,  Wall Street, the Rich, or the Government for this, it is my own fault. Even if it wasn’t my fault, I wouldn’t whine about it, Instead I am very thankful for what I have, Because things in the grand scheme of things, it could be A Lot worse.

I taught myself most of the skills I currently have, and I am learning on my own continually, so I can perform better at my job. I also look at other ways to earn more money. I do not blame others for my situation, and I do not expect them to give me handouts. That would just be greedy. I would not turn down assistance if was offered, but I will not beg for it, nor will I expect it. I will however, continue to work to improve my skills, and attitude. It’s silly to think that someone else owes me anything. If people have a caring heart they will offer assistance, but I do not begrudge them if they don’t. People should be allowed to keep what they earn, and use it as they see fit. It is not my place, nor the government’s, to take from anyone because I think they have too much.

I look at my taxes, and I can’t imagine what the Government is doing with all that money. I barely pay income taxes, because of my low wages, but there are so many others in there, that they still take far more than they should.  I also can’t believe they want more. The Government needs to stop wasting our money to make itself bigger. The Government is more of a road block to personal excellence that it is to improving life. If the Government was not so overbearing in this country, then the manufacturing industry would not be moving out to other places, so they can still turn a profit. We cannot expect existing business, and future businesses, to work in a country where it is nearly impossible to make money.

I believe that there may indeed be a few greedy people in wall street, but there are far more others that are Job creators, who are the employers of us 99%. I want the government to stop over-regulating the job creators, and stop trying to take more away from them, so they can offer better wages, and more jobs, so we can all be employed, and support ourselves with out assistance. If they did this, there would be no reason for the handouts they are trying to give out now. Our government is not Robin Hood. No one should be paying more money to the government, as all they do is waste it on useless programs that really don’t help.

I believe the government should make regulations, but not to the extent that it chokes the economy, and they should never have the need to create more government to enact any law they create. The federal Government should leave  enforcement up to the states.

I don’t think of medical insurance as a right, but a privilege. If the government tries to control the health care system the way they are, it will just degrade the quality of the best health care  system in the world.  Every time the government interferes with any private sector business, they make it far worse than it was before. In fact, too much government meddling is what caused the current medical service issues we have, and is what is causing the costs to be so high.

I believe that if the people have the power, as it was given to us by our constitution, and the government would back off and be what it is supposed to be, the country would be in a far better situation that it is now.

I also don’t believe that writing this down on a piece of paper and hiding behind it in a picture makes what I have to say have any more  impact. In fact, I think it just looks silly.

I am a different 99%.

Thetruth about obama

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
At the time:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
Remember the day…
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!
THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment… to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS! (BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy).
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac????
OBAMA
And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???
OBAMA and the Democratic Congress
So when someone tries to blame Bush…
Set the record straight on Bush!
Now let’s look at it a different way….
Libs babble about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. Amazingly enough,…… a lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once more, a short civics lesson.
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.
And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let’s remember what the deficits looked like during that period: (below)
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 2009
REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER! Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving.

Mr. Obama, while bemoaning how unkind the fates have been to him after doing so much to resuscitate the economy, claimed that over 2 million private sector jobs had been created since he assumed office but that the Arab Spring, a tsunami in Japan, the Republicans etc etc had all conspired to reverse all his hard work to save the America.

Beyond the laughable and pathetic aspect of listening to a President of the United States whining about his fate in life, he deliberately told another outright lie. The private sector has not produced 2 million jobs since January of 2009, when he was inaugurated.

In January 2009 the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in its Employment Situation News Release showed that total employment in the United States was at 142.1million. Of that number, 22.4 million were employed by governments at all levels. Thus 119.7 million were in the private sector and overall unemployment rate was 7.6%.

Fast forward to June of 2011; the Employment Situation News Release for that month revealed that total employment was at 139.3 million (a drop of 2.8 million from January 2009). Within the total employment number were 22.1 million government workers at the federal, state and local levels. In summary there were thus 117.2 million employed in the private sector, a decline of 2.5 million. The overall unemployment rate: 9.2%.

The reality is 2.5 million jobs in the private sector were eliminated since Obama assumed office.

It is painfully obvious, even to those without access to the BLS reports, that average Americans instinctively know by their own experiences that there has been no job creation in the private sector since Obama became President; yet he so casually and easily can throw out a lie to further his ambitions.

the “judicial activism” ploy by thomas sowell

For more than half a century, courts let Congress do whatever it wanted to do, so long as the politicians said that they were regulating interstate commerce.

But there was consternation among politicians and the media in 1995, when the Supreme Court said that carrying a gun near a school was not interstate commerce, so that Congress had no power to regulate it– even though states had that power.

Howls of protest went up from politicians and the media because the Supreme Court voted 5 to 4 in favor of an ordinary common-sense reading of the Constitution, instead of the clever word games that had been used for so long to circumvent the Tenth Amendment.

ObamaCare is another piece of Congressional legislation for which there is no federal authority in the Constitution. But when someone asked Nancy Pelosi where in the Constitution there was any authority for passing such a law, her reply was “Are you kidding?”

Two federal courts have now said that they are not kidding.

Gun dealer gets prison for selling to illegal immigrant; illegal ‘middle man’ not charged

This should enrage every U.S. Citizen.

By Diane Macedo

Gun rights advocates are up in arms that a Texas gun dealer was sentenced to six months in prison for selling a firearm to an illegal immigrant, but a “middle-man” who bought the gun for the immigrant — and who was in the U.S. illegally himself, but had a valid driver’s license — was never arrested, charged or deported in the case.
